WHY FAMILY PRACTICE IS RIGHT FOR YOU

A unique aspect of family practice is providing continuing and quality health care for the individual and the family.  Whether it be newborn care, pediatric care, adolescent care, general adult medicine, women’s health, geriatrics, preventive care, or counseling, your family physician is well-trained to handle most of your family’s health care needs.

Our physicians are either board-eligible or board-certified in family practice, which means they must pass a full day examination every few years to ensure they are up to date on the latest medical advances.  One of our physicians is also board-certified in Psychiatry.

We encourage a long-term relationship between you and your physician.  This gives him or her an opportunity to get to know you as a person, as well as becoming familiar with your family, your home and work environment, and any other factors which may be affecting your health.

OFFICE HOURS AND APPOINTMENTS

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.  To schedule an appointment, call (973) 972-2111.

Office hours are by appointment only.  However, we can honor most requests for same day or next day appointments.  We would prefer you not to walk in without an appointment, since we cannot always accommodate you without advance notice.

Despite careful scheduling, unexpected delays may sometimes occur and we will try to notify you of such delays.  We fully realize your time is valuable, and we will do our best to keep your waiting time to a minimum.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We will try in most instances to remind you by phone the day before your next appointment.  When you have an appointment with the doctor, this time is reserved only for you.  Therefore, if for any reason you must cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we may give the time to someone else who may need to see the doctor.

NO SMOKING

For the health of our patients, please refrain from smoking in our office.

TELEPHONE

If you are calling due to an emergency situation, please tell us right away.  If you wish to speak with the doctor, please keep in mind that he or she may not be in the office that day, or may be in the middle of seeing other patients.  Therefore, if you would provide us a phone number, we will do our best to make sure your call is returned as soon as the doctor is available.

After 5PM and on weekends, your call will be answered by our answering service.  If you need to speak with one of our doctors, they will relay your message and your call will be returned promptly. For routine matters, such as prescription refills, please call us during regular business hours.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Before your appointment, please check your medication supply so that you can ask for refills while visiting your doctor.  If you run out of medication between visits, please call our office Refill Line at (973) 972-0136 and give your name, phone number, medication name, dosage, and the phone number of your pharmacy.  Please try to arrange for refills a few days before they are needed.

LABORATORY AND X-RAY WORK

For your convenience, we are able to perform a wide range of tests either in our office or in this building.  We will make every effort to notify you of test results as soon as we receive them.

PAYMENT POLICY

Self-Pay:  In order to keep costs to a minimum, payment is requested at the time of service.  We accept checks, MasterCard and Visa.  If you are unable to pay the full amount at the time of service, please speak to our accounts person to arrange a flexible payment schedule that will fit your budget.

Medicare:  Our office accepts Medicare.  This means that we accept payment in full as per what Medicare deems customary and reasonable.  The only amount you are responsible for is the yearly deductible and copayment.

Commercial Insurance:  Coverage varies with each individual or group policy.  In general, we ask for payment at the time of service and request that you apply to your insurance company for reimbursement.  If you have met your deductible for the year, and can bring documentation of this, we will as a courtesy to you, bill your insurance company directly.  Any amount not covered will be billed to you at a later date.

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs):  Please inquire as to whether or not we participate with your HMO.
