Esraa Askar, MD

Dr Askar is currently a first-year fellow in the Department of Endocrinology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt, in 2016. Following graduation, Dr. Askar served as a teaching assistant at the Microbiology and Immunology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, for two years, concurrently completing her USMLE exams.

Her journey continued with the successful completion of the Internal Medicine Residency training program at the Department of Internal Medicine, Northwell/Hofstra Zucker School of Medicine, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, NY, USA. During her residency, she received the distinguished honor of being named the outstanding intern of the year in 2020-2021. Dr. Askar's exceptional dedication and leadership qualities led to her selection as chief resident during her third year of residency in 2022-2023.

Beyond her clinical pursuits, Dr. Askar has actively contributed to healthcare improvement as a member of the "Future Doctor Society," a non-governmental organization in Egypt. Throughout her medical school years, she engaged in various fundraising projects, campaigns, and social events aimed at enhancing the healthcare system. In her current fellowship at Rutgers, Dr. Askar is dedicated to expanding her knowledge in endocrinology. Her passion lies in unraveling the complexities of the field, reflecting a commitment to making meaningful contributions to patient care and medical research.



Monique Malvar, MD

Dr. Malvar was born and raised in the Philippines and graduated cum laude both in nursing and medical school from the University of Santo Tomas, the first medical school of the country. Throughout her education, she focused on serving underserved communities and participated in various medical missions.

After completing her internal medicine residency in New York during the COVID pandemic, she pursued an Endocrinology Fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She enjoys relationships with patients, collaborative care in navigating their conditions, and teamwork within any workplace she is part of.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, kayaking, going on road trips, and watching Broadway shows.
