Welcome to Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School's Child Neurology Residency Program. Our program is a fully accredited, five year combined program, which offers 2 years of pediatric residency training followed by 3 years of training in child neurology. Our program has been developed according to the guidelines of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the ACGME. Successful completion of the program confers eligibility for the ABPN’s certification examination in “Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology”.

The goal of our program is to train inquisitive young physicians to be competent child neurologists with a desire to pursue future clinical, educational and research interests.

Our program offers intensive clinical training, research experience, teaching experience and an ongoing program of didactic lectures and conferences, all in a supportive and encouraging environment. The clinical portion of the program includes exposure to a diverse patient population with a wide variety of neurological conditions, broad exposure to clinical subspecialties and graded responsibility. Education is of tremendous importance and residents participate in a myriad of educational activities both as learners and educators. All residents participate in a research mentorship program, with some projects resulting in local, national and international poster/paper presentations or publication.

If you have any additional questions not answered for you here on our website, please email our Program Coordinator Gina DeLaRosa for further assistance.

Thank you for your interest in our program!
