Traumatic Brain Injury Research Laboratory

The Traumatic Brain Injury Laboratory lead by Dr. Chirag D. Gandhi, is currently primarily investigating CNS regeneration after a Traumatic Brain Injury. The breadth of research is currently expanding into a wider array of Neurotrauma investigations. The lab has a long history of a variety of interests including:

  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
  • Use of MR-Spectroscopy to predict the emergence from coma or the vegetative state following TBI.
  • The use of adjunct osmotic diuretics in the management of elevated intracranial pressure.
  • Investigations of decompressive hemicraniectomy in the management of severe TBI.
