The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology treats children and adolescents with hormonal conditions.  This includes pubertal, thyroid, adrenal and growth disorders and diseases of calcium metabolism such as rickets and parathyroid disease.  Some metabolic conditions such as Type1and Type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemia are seen and managed by the division. The endocrinologists see overweight children in order to screen for organic causes and complications of obesity.  In addition, several genetic disorders such as Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, Down syndrome, and Kallman syndrome are seen by the endocrinology division to manage underlying endocrine problems which may complicate these conditions.
