Autism Surveillance – Young Adult Pilot Study

To investigate the prevalence of ASD in a cohort of young adults, the New Jersey Autism Study conducted a special pilot investigation of ASD in New Jersey, using the same ASD definitions and case finding strategies developed for monitoring ASD in children. The focus of this pilot are individuals born in 1988 who resided in Union County in 2006. Findings from this pilot study are under review and will provide the first US population-based estimates of ASD prevalence among young adults.
