Orientation

Welcome, Class of 2022!

Orientation will take place from August 7 - 10, 2018.

The orientation program focuses on providing incoming students with a smooth transition to medical school. Students will learn how studying for medical school is different from other types of school and work, and hear from second-year students about how they best managed the adjustment to medical school. They will also learn about student advising, stress management, and a variety of other academic and personal resources.

A variety of social events encourage students to meet their classmates, explore the greater Newark area, and most importantly, have fun. The formal Orientation Program includes the White Coat Ceremony on August 9th at which time students pledge to abide by the principles of humanism and professionalism throughout their medical careers.

Attendance at orientation is required for all incoming students. Students receive orientation information in the months preceding matriculation via electronic mail.
