Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE)

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) students use the Center for Academic Success & Enrichment (CASE) as their central academic advisement system. During key transition points in the medical school curriculum, all NJMS students are required to meet with one of the Center’s faculty, either Dr. Sarah Karl, Director of CASE or Dr. James Hill, Associate Dean for Student Affairs. For instance, all first years must meet with a CASE advisor for a mandatory meeting in the early weeks of the first course. You will get more information about this during Orientation. In addition, periodically NJMS students are asked -- or they request – to meet with a CASE advisor to check on their academic progress, satisfaction with the medical school experience, and further coaching on development of personal skills and habits specific to success with the medical school curriculum and professionalism.
