Sylvia Christakos, PhD

Dr. Sylvia Christakos' lab studies the vitamin D endocrine system.  Part of the work involves the effect of the active form of vitamin D, 1,25D3, on the immune system and the mechanisms involved in protection by 1,25D3 of the induction of EAE (the mouse model of multiple sclerosis).
