NJMS Faculty Organization Outstanding Graduate Student Award

The S.C. Joseph Fu Scholarship award is presented annually to a student studying for a doctorate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Fu was Professor Emeritus of biochemistry/molecular biology and ophthalmology at NJMS and assistant and acting dean at UMDNJ-Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). He also established Students for Medicine, a summer program for incoming minority students at UMDNJ-University Hospital. The $25,000 endowment supporting the scholarship is funded by gifts from his widow, Susan Fu, Dr. B.J. Wagner, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at NJMS, friends, family and colleagues.
