Molecular Basis of Synaptic Disorders – CBNP 5260Q:

The neuromuscular junction (NMJ) is a prototype synapse. Proteins which are essential to the function and morphology of this synapse are relatively well understood. Neurological disorders are known to target these synaptic proteins. The objective of this one credit seminar course is to discuss proteins which contribute to the pathophysiology of 4 classes of synaptic disorder. Since homologous proteins exist at central nervous system synapses, the concepts presented in this course are relevant to understanding and treating disorders of the central nervous system.
