Prospective Students

FOREIGN APPLICANTS

Thank you for your interest in the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Please feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO FOREIGN APPLICANTS

The Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences receives over 300 applications annually from foreign countries. Since our entering class consists of only about 25 students each year, competition for these places forces us to be highly selective in our admission criteria. Therefore, we are unlikely to admit foreign applicants with scores of less than the 60th percentile in the verbal section and the 70th percentile in the quantitative section, respectively, on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and less than 80 on the IBT TOEFL. In addition, we look for a demonstration of interest and experience in basic research, especially in areas that compliment the research interests of our faculty.

If you wish to apply for admission, please follow the application directions on the Multidisciplinary PhD Program web page in the Prospective Students section. Please note that we cannot preview your credentials or indicate the likelihood of acceptance prior to completion of your application.

If you will receive your Baccalaureate degree later than June, do not apply for the coming fall semester. No visa form will be sent until you have been accepted by the Graduate School and we receive evidence that the degree has been awarded.

The application fee is NOT REFUNDABLE. Consider your credentials carefully before applying.
