On behalf of my faculty colleagues, I welcome you to the website of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark.
The Multidisciplinary PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences, was developed to provide students with research opportunities in a wide range of fields and in either basic science or clinical departments. Upon entering the program, students will choose one of four educational tracks - molecular sciences (MBGC), integrative biosciences (CBNP), infectious disease and immunity (I3), or biomedical engineering (BME) – that are designed to simultaneously provide an educational framework and encourage students to build their own curricula. We invite the brightest and most motivated students to join us in the adventure of basic, translational and interdisciplinary research.
Our master's and certificate programs support students seeking to improve opportunities to enter medical, dental or veterinary schools, and to enhance careers in business, public health, pharmaceutical industries, teaching, government and entrepreneurial endeavors. The master's degree also enhances the student's credentials for doctoral training at Rutgers GSBS or elsewhere. Our faculty is committed to excellence in teaching as well as carrying out cutting-edge research.
Please explore our website and if you have any further questions, contact one of the advisors or contact persons for information about the Multidisciplinary PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences, master’s or certificate programs. I am committed to facilitating successful graduate studies for all of our students.
Andrew Thomas, Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean.
