NJMS’ Own Elected President of International Latin American Biophysical Society
Dr. Jorge Contreras, Assistant Professor in Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience, NJMS will take office as President of the Latin American Biophysical Society at the meeting of the Biophysical Society in Los Angeles, California on March 1, 2016.
The Latina American Biophysical Society is an international organization founded in the eighties with the purpose of strengthening biophysics in Latin America. According to the society’s website, http://sobla.weebly.com/ the mission of the Latin American Biophysical Society is to catalyze interactions among Latin American Biophysicists worldwide, providing young scientists with the opportunity to reach biophysicists in Latin America and abroad to establish collaborations and/or internships, in order to promote the development of Biophysics.
