Dr. Mark Granick Named to National Leadership Position
Congratulations to NJMS faculty member Mark S. Granick, MD, who has been selected to join the Education Board at the American Health Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving Americans’ physical and mental health. As a board member, he will share his knowledge and expertise on plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Granick is professor of surgery and chief of plastic surgery at NJMS and professor of surgery at RWJMS. He is nationally recognized for his outstanding skills as a plastic surgeon, particularly in the areas of surgical wound care and complex reconstructive surgery from injury and cancer. He is also known for developing an outstanding plastic surgery residency program at NJMS, for his research in telemedicine, and for compassionate patient care. He attributes his success to continuously learning, outstanding training opportunities, and persistence.
He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, edited nine textbooks, and written more than 50 book chapters. He serves as one of the founders and on the Executive Board of the Journal of Wound Technology and has received NIH grant funding on biofilm research.
He has been honored with The Global LiveWire Medical Award for Best Clinician in the U.S., and the Best of New York/Best of New Jersey 25+ times by Castle Connolly, and has been named the 2016 and 2017 Top Plastic Surgeon in New Jersey by the International Association of Plastic Surgeons.
