Dr. Livingston

Congratulations, Dr. David H. Livingston!

Dr. David H. Livingston, a Wesley J. Howe Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at NJMS, was appointed President of the Western Trauma Association (WTA) for 2013-2014. He also presided over the 44th Annual Western Trauma Association conference in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in March. The WTA, originally founded by general and orthopaedic surgeons, is the only multispecialty trauma organization in the United States. Click here to learn more.

Volunteers in support of the NJMS Pediatric Center for Rare and Complex Diseases (PCRCD) recently held a “Rock-N-Bowl” fundraiser to raise funds for Dr. Harumi Jyonouchi’s, Director of PCRCD and Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, research into inflammatory autism. Compassionate Day

Celebrating Humanism in Medicine

This year NJMS took part in celebrating National Solidarity Day and Humanism Day to display the importance of humanism in the field of medicine. NJMS students, staff, attending physicians, University Hospital (UH) patients, nurses, and others in medical education and patient care distributed Valentine’s Day cards made by the NJMS students to over 200 UH inpatients.
