Bruce Haffty, MD, joins RSNA Board of Directors

CHICAGO, Ill. - Bruce G. Haffty, M.D., an international expert in breast radiation oncology known for his accomplishments in the clinic and classroom, as well as for his groundbreaking cancer research, is the newest member of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Board of Directors. Dr. Haffty will assume the position of Board Liaison for Science, as Richard L. Ehman, M.D., becomes chairman of the Board of Directors.

Ravi Shah, a 2nd year student at NJMS, recently received the prestigious “2013 Leadership Award” from the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation.  According to the AMA, Ravi and other deserving medical students received this award for their commitment to service, community involvement, altruism, leadership and dedication to patient care.  Ravi’s accomplishments do not end there.  He was also recently elected as Chair of the Medical Society of New Jersey - medical student section and currently serves on the committee for long-range planning for the medical student section of the AMA....Read More

Julie Ferguson, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Director of the Registrar's Office at New Jersey Medical School, was appointed as the NE Group on Student Affairs (GSA) representative to the American Association of Medical Colleges National Committee on Student Records (COSR). During her three year term of service, Julie will advance the work of the committee, including revising the COSR Guidelines for Maintaining Active and Permanent Individual Student Records and the Handbook for Student Records Administrators. ....Read More


Jean Anderson Eloy, MD

CONGRATULATIONS

Jean Anderson Eloy, MD, is the recipient of the 2012 Physician of the Year Award from the New Jersey chapter of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad. He will receive the award at a special ceremony on June 9.  Eloy, who is vice chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at New Jersey Medical School and director of rhinology and sinus surgery at University Hospital, has traveled to Haiti as a medical volunteer to provide care to its residents, including those affected by the earthquake of January 2010.

 


Tolga Taneli, MD

Watch Tolga Taneli, MD, Director and Training Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NJMS, on News 12 New Jersey as he briefly discusses Tourette Syndrome (TS). During the "12 to Your Health" segment, Dr. Taneli provides information on the definition, prevalence, and treatments for TS. In addition to specializing in the care of TS, Dr. Taneli collaborates with the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders (NJCTS) in their education and outreach efforts. The interview will air on Saturday, August 4th, and Sunday, August 5th, at 6:30 am, 10:30 am, noon, and 1:30 pm.
