Science Experiment

DEADLINE: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2012

We are pleased to announce a call for projects to the ORSP Summer Student Research Program for 2013.   If you are interested in serving as a mentor for the 2013 Summer Program please submit an electronic copy of your project description to Ms. Giovanna Comer at:  comergi@njms.rutgers.edu by Monday, November 19, 2012.

This program gives an opportunity for students and volunteers to work alongside an NJMS Faculty Mentor on a specific research project for a period of eight weeks.  Over the eight-week period the participants are exposed to the dynamic nature of biomedical science.  During this time they learn about the methodology and results of laboratory/clinical research, sharpen diagnostic skills, and learn the value and limits of experimental results.  This program has been fortunate to have had an array of enthusiastic students seeking to broaden their research knowledge in the treatment of diseases.

Requirements for Students

Projects involving human or animal subjects MUST have IRB and/or IACUC approvals.  Students, Volunteers and Interns are not allowed to work on projects that do not have the required research compliance approvals.

NOTE: Faculty who plan to bring on board high school students must follow the University-wide approval process for "High School Student Interns".  Please use this link to access eligibility requirements and forms:  Eligibility Requirements and Forms for High School Student Interns
