The Center of Human Development and Aging

Director: Abraham Aviv, MD

About us:

The mission of The Center of Human Development and Aging (CHDA) is to gain insight into the molecular mechanisms that are responsible for human aging, principally cardiovascular aging.  The Center’s projects encompass multiple investigations that cover the entire human lifespan, including intra-uterine development.  These projects seek to understand the roles of genes, maternal exposures, the intra-and extra-uterine environments, sex and ethnicity in the biology of human aging.  The bulk of these projects focuses on telomere biology in health and in aging-related diseases.
