Autism Surveillance – Study Year 2006
To understand trends in ASD prevalence it is necessary to conduct ongoing surveillance by a consistent method in the same region. New Jersey Autism Study received support for from the NJ Governor's Council on Autism to maintain autism monitoring in the metro New Jersey region for study year 2006. The ASD definitions and ascertainment procedures used in 2000 and 2002 were maintained for 2006 and the same four counties served as our ASD monitoring region. Findings from the 2006 cycle, including updated ASD prevalence estimates are under review for publication.
