Integrated Structure and Function Course

muscle man The Integrative Structure and Function course represents a coordinated presentation of Cell and Tissue Biology and Physiology. The course is designed to enable students to gain an understanding of the functional significance of the structural organization of cells, tissues, and organ systems of the normal adult. Through the use of selected examples, the clinical significance of these structure-function relationships is highlighted.

The course consists of four units: (1) cells and tissues (2) blood and cardiovascular systems (3) respiratory and renal systems (4) gastrointestinal and endocrine/reproductive systems. Specific course materials for each unit are presented in the respective sections of the syllabus.
