Welcome to the New Jersey Medical School’s website on cultural competency and Hispanic health. The website will serve as a University Wide resource and training center that will have the capacity to advance the training and education of all licensed physicians in the State of NJ. The overall goal is to provide a venue, wherein we as a healthcare organization can work towards high quality culturally and linguistically competent care for all New Jerseyans.
The website has been developed to include: 1) NJMS Cultural Competency programs and initiatives, 2) Resources on Cultural Competency-related issues, and 3) Links to other cultural competency websites featuring Hispanic health and minority health topics as they relate to the practice of medicine. Any educator hoping to include issues affecting Hispanic health, minority health, cultural competency, diversity and inclusion in their curricula will have key resources at their fingertips. To keep pace with the proliferation of resources now online, key resources will be available via access to links. In addition, the website provides a broad array of information and resources that focus on cultural competence in health care and health professions education. Contact information is provided for one-on-one consultation and/or training. Please use the menu to the left to read more about each initiative as well as resources available for the community at large.
