• Why SGS Health Science Campus - Newark?

      Rutgers School of Graduates Studies at the Health Sciences Campus - Newark offers graduate students the opportunity to study and perform cutting-edge research with nationally recognized faculty. PhD students are provided academic direction and flexibility through a Multidisciplinary program that builds on the basic and translational research strengths of the faculty of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Students wishing to be more competitive when applying to medical and dental schools, as well as those looking for meaningful careers in the biomedical sciences, are able to earn one of several master’s degrees, which include opportunities for eligible students to take courses with medical and dental students.

      SGS Alum, Brittany Ang, tops 2017 graduating class of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine

      Brittany Ang, an alumnus from the master’s program of the Rutgers School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Health Sciences Campus – Newark, recently graduated from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) at the top of the 2017 class, with a perfect GPA of 4.00. Prior to enrolling in RSDM, Brittany completed a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree in the Dental Scholars track at SGS. Brittany is extremely positive about her time in the master’s program, where she was able to take courses that “helped expand and build my science foundation” and “to excel on the DAT, and more importantly in my rigorous dental school courses.” She feels that her experience in the master’s program has helped her receive numerous awards (including Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society (2015-2016, 2016-2017); Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement; and, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dental Student Award) and has “recommended (the master’s program) to countless students”. Dr. Ang is currently pursuing advanced training in the Orthodontics Post-graduate Program at RSDM.
