Students applying to the Masters Program can apply to be part of one of the following tracks: Medical Scholars Track, Dental Scholars Track, or Biomedical Scholars Track. Students who are part of a particular track get (1) specialized advising (2) eligibilty to request specialized courses e.g. courses in the medical and dental school (3) priority for volunteering opportunities. Graduates from this Masters program pursue Medical School, Dental School, Ph.D. education or careers in biopharma. This program has a flexible curricula and builds on the existing strengths of basic and clinical faculty in the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). Students require 30 credits with a grade point average of "B" or better to graduate. Of the 30 credits, 9 credits are required courses and the remaining 21 credits are electives. Students enrolled in the Master's program have the opportunity to obtain either a Master of Science in Biomedical Science (MS) or a Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree.The MS requires a 5-credit research thesis while the MBS is predominantly based on coursework.   • Part-time enrollment available, with many evening courses in core subjects
  • Students obtain laboratory research experience with medical or dental school faculty

Application deadlines

If you wish to start in the Fall semester, the application deadline is June 30th of that year. For the Fall 2020 semester, the application deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020.
If you wish to start in the Spring semester, the application deadline is November 15th of the preceding year.
