Admission timeline
The Master's program offers admission on a rolling basis. The program offers both Fall and Spring admissions.

Fall 2024
Deadline to apply: July 15, 2024.
GRE/MCAT/DAT test scores are no longer needed for the application.

Spring 2024
Deadline to apply: December 01, 2024.
Classes start in the first week of January. Click here for the Spring 2025 class schedule. A majority of classes will follow a similar timeline in Spring 2024.

Application fee
The application fee for the Fall 2024 term has been waived.

How to apply
Before you visit the Rutgers University-wide Graduate and Professional Application Portal, please read the information below:

Our Master's program consists of following three tracks (1) Medical scholars track for pre-medical students (2) Dental scholars track for pre-dental students and (3) Biomedical Research scholars track for students interested in biomedical research. Students from all three tracks graduate with either a thesis-based Master of Science (MS) or a non-thesis Master of Biomedical Science (MBS) degree.

The online application has the 12 sections listed below. In order for the application to be routed correctly, prospective students should fill section 4, Program of study and section 5, Program details as listed below.

    • Applicant Type: Degree
    • Degree Type: Master's (e.g. MA, MS, EdM, MFA)
    • Area of Study: Biomedical Sciences
    • Location/Instructional Method: Newark - RBHS
    • Program Selection: Select one: Biomedical Sciences (MBS) Newark - RBHS or Biomedical Sciences (MS) Newark - RBHS
  5. Program details
    • First preference Concentration/Track/Specialization (Select one of the three tracks here): Biomedical Research Scholars, Dental Scholars, Medical Scholars
