About us:
The Division of Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases
provides ambulatory, in-patient and laboratory services to diagnose and treat
acute and chronic infectious diseases, and allergies. The division has particular
expertise in the management of children with Autism, immune deficiencies, HIV/AIDS
as well as chronic infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. Complete laboratory
support is available for diagnostic skin testing, nasal cytology, spirometry,
in-vitro tests for allergic and immunologic disease and HIV.
The division's active research program studying the transmission
of HIV is well recognized throughout the world. The
Francis Xavier Bougnoud Center (FXB) is also a program of the division that
is devoted to Pediatric HIV patients and their families. The FXB Center also
provides instruction throughout the world to caregivers of HIV infected children
and the International HIV Resource Center provides educational programs, resources
and instructional materials to health care professionals caring for HIV infected
children.
