The vascular neurology fellowship Program at the Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is a 1 year, ACGME accredited program designed to prepare fellows for an academic career in cerebrovascular neurology.
During the course of the fellowship, the fellow is expected to gain competence in the primary management of critically ill stroke patients, triage acute stroke patients including enrollment in acute stroke trials, participate in clinical research, consult on inpatient/outpatient referrals to the stroke service, interpret a wide array of neuroradiological tests, and perform and interpret neurovascular ultrasound. In addition to participating in ongoing research, fellows are encouraged to develop their own research projects.
This fellowship fulfills a minimum requirement for entering into Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School’s 2-year endovascular training program, which can be applied for separately with the Neurosurgery Department.
Our Vascular Neurology Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications to our program are made through ERAS Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Please contact Cari Brown for additional details on how to apply for our Vascular Fellowship Program.
