They are also of leaders in scientific research looking for new and better way to treat patients with diseased hearts s that they may live longer, healthy lives.

Cardiologists use a broad range of diagnostic techniques and technologies to detect heart conditions to make an accurate diagnosis. A decision about whether a patient is treated with medicine, an interventional procedure or requires surgery is usually made jointly by a cardiologist, patient's primary care physician and a cardiac surgeon based on an assessment of the patient's condition. This is true for scheduled treatments as well as in emergency situation .The important factors that a weighed to make this decision are the nature of the patient's cardiac disease, their general health and whether they have other medical conditions that might impact the effectiveness of a particular medicine or procedure.
