		Today's healthcare environment is complex. Our highly skilled clerical and clinical ancillary personnel render quality patient care services at The Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. We are a multilingual department. Various members of our staff and faculty are fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Shanghi Chinese, Polish, Italian, Hindi, Tagalog, ASL (American Sign Language). Special arrangements for interpreters must be made in advance of the appointment.

		Ophthalmic medical assistants and technicians perform basic eye measurements and conduct highly specialized tests with the sophisticated equipment in our state-of-the art facility. The ophthalmic medical technicians working in the Clinics and Faculty Practice at The Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science are all fully certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

The orthoptist operates the Goldmann perimeter

Ophthalmic medical technician in the clinic

A certified orthoptist assists in the evaluation and management of problems related to ocular motility and muscle imbalance. The Institute offers both automated visual field testing and Goldmann perimetry.

The academic support staff prepares the extensive consultation reports generated with each patient visit and provides administrative and clerical support for the teaching and research missions of the faculty.

Our receptionists and medical records clerks

Receptionists and billing technicians assist patients with complicated referral and insurance procedures. Medical records clerks maintain patient files and documents.
