Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics

About us:

The Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics provides medical services to children with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral problems, as well as to children at risk for behavioral problems. These include children with developmental delays, suspicion for autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and learning difficulties. In addition, diagnostic services are offered to children with prenatal alcohol exposure at the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Clinic.  Social services are available to the families of these children who may need support in order to cope with their child's disability or advocacy services to assist them in negotiating accommodations in the schools and community.  In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team comprised of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, physical and occupational therapists, and speech and hearing therapists within the University, children are evaluated and referred for more specialized interventions. The Division works closely with school personnel to obtain specialized services within the school system.
