Fellowship Training Program

Kessler Foundation Research Center has teamed up with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ-NJMS) and the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation (KIR) to create a Rehabilitation Post-Doctoral Training Program.

Through a balance of team building and individualized mentoring from experts across multiple fields of biomedical and social research, our program is designed to train doctoral-level researchers and clinicians to improve the rehabilitation outcomes of persons disabled due to brain or spinal cord injury.

The program is designed to be multidisciplinary and will solicit and enroll post-doctoral fellows and clinicians from a wide variety of fields within rehabilitation. These fellows will receive research training that will facilitate the pursuit of a career in rehabilitation research.

Our laboratories span a wide range of rehabilitation research initiatives, including human physical performance; neuropsychology and neuroscience; traumatic brain injury; spinal cord injury; stroke; rehabilitation engineering; and outcomes research.
Kessler Foundation Research Center and UMDNJ-NJMS invite Post-Doctoral Fellow candidates with a Ph.D., M.D., or other doctoral degree in a field relevant to medical rehabilitation or health services research. Ph.D. candidates planning dissertation research on topics relevant to medical rehabilitation outcomes are also encouraged to apply.
