The Latino Medical Student Association of New Jersey Medical School (LMSA), was founded to address the health needs of the Latino community and to create an environment for academic and social support for Latino students interested in health professions. Our goals include improving the quality of healthcare delivered to the Latino community, educating and sensitizing the New Jersey Medical School community to the specific needs of the Latino community, and to become further involved in the surrounding communities by engaging, promoting, and coordinating community service opportunities. LMSA will be holding several events throughout the year to accomplish these goals. Each event will help increase awareness of unique community service opportunities, raise money to financially support them, and most importantly, communicate the importance of understanding health needs as it relates to Latino people.
