Founded in 1666, Newark is steeped in history and simultaneously is also well renowned for its urban revitalization. Today, Newark is home to top educational, research and healthcare institutions. On our campus, you will find Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM), University Hospital, and the Rutgers Cancer Center of New Jersey. 0.4 miles from our campus, you will find the International Center for Public Health (ICPH)/ Public Health Research Institute (PHIR). Our location gives us proximity to the Branch Brook Park (home of the annual cherry blossom festival), the Newark Museum (the largest museum in NJ), Cathedral Basilica (a beautiful Gothic Revival architecture), as well as Newark Downtown (where you can get everything from contemporary to traditional food and art destinations to performance centers).
