Newark Campus

Welcome to the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The GSBS was founded in 1965 to provide graduate training in the many disciplines of biomedical science. Today the GSBS-Newark campus offers programs leading to PhD, DMD/PhD, MD/PhD, MS, MBS, MS/MBA, and MBS/MPH degrees.

Biology is, and will continue to be, the dominant science of this century. We are poised not only to understand the complexities that make us what we are, but to use this information in making unprecedented discoveries to treat and cure human disease. By joining the community of biomedical scientists, you choose a path with unlimited possibilities for career development.

Our graduate students attend classes and work in labs in a supportive, vibrant, intellectual environment. We offer a variety of courses ranging from Cell and Molecular Biology to Stem Cell Biology and Applications to Molecular Medicine, Weapons of Mass Destruction and The Business of Science. Our graduates are accomplished scientists who have obtained positions in academics, education, science writing and in pharmaceutical/biotech companies throughout the country.

We invite you to learn more about the GSBS and the exciting and unique opportunities available to our students by browsing our site or contacting us directly.
