Cellular and Developmental Neuroscience – CBNP 5150Q

Cellular and Developmental Neuroscience (CBNP 5150Q) provides an introduction to broad areas of neuroscience for SGS PhD students or for SGS Master’s students with prior background in cellular neuroscience.  The course begins with an overview of the structure of the Central Peripheral Nervous Systems (CNS, PNS), and then proceeds to analyze the functions of the cells that comprise the nervous system, how these cells are generated during development, how they form appropriate connections, and the factors that contribute to their ultimate survival and differentiation. The lectures will focus largely on historical and current experimental findings underlying our current state of knowledge.
