Dermatologic Surgery Clinics

Surgery is a vital component of our dermatology practice and educational curriculum. In addition to procedures performed during routine outpatient visits, focused dermatologic surgery teaching clinics meet a few times weekly. Procedures which residents routinely perform under supervision include routine biopsies, excisions, sclerotherapy, laser-mediated therapy and complicated reconstructions following Moh’s surgery.

Medical Dermatology Clinics

These clinics are resident-oriented and provide an ideal opportunity for teaching in the outpatient setting. We see patients in a number of settings: in our Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) and Doctor’s Office Center (DOC) in Newark, NJ, and at our New Jersey Veterans Administration Healthcare System (VANJHCS) affiliate hospital in East Orange, New Jersey.

Dermatopathology

Dermatopathology conferences with discussion of unknown cases occur more than once per week, led by Professors Rothenberg, Lambert, and others. Dermatology residents review all biopsy tissue samples at our inpatient pathology laboratories.
