Dr. Camila Krysicka Janniger was appointed Chief of Geriatric Dermatology at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1990. She oversees a comprehensive portfolio of applied research to prevent, diagnose, and treat dermatologic conditions affecting elderly people. She is also Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Janniger has collaborated with institutions of higher learning all over the world and is the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, including election to honorary membership in the Kuwait Society of Dermatology and the Jordanian Society for Dermatology and Venereology. Dr. Janniger has served as one of the consultants to the Qatar National Research Fund and the Ministry of Health of Kuwait.

Dr. Janniger has also made contributions to the understanding of malignant neoplastic conditions. She was one of the original describers of new subtypes of Kaposi's sarcoma. She is Managing Editor of Medscape Dermatology and founding Section Editor and the Editor of Special Issues for Cutis. Dr. Janniger serves on the editorial boards of many scientific journals including SKINmed, Dermatology and Cosmetics, Clinical Dermatology, Medical Mycology, Dermatology Review, Medical Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology, Serbian Journal of Dermatology, and the Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology.

Dr. Janniger is active in professional societies. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a charter member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Chapter. In 2012, Dr. Janniger served as a member of the Executive Board of the World Health Academy’s 1st International Winter Consensus Conference.

Dr. Janniger has been named a "Top Doctor" by Castle Connolly Medical and a "Super Doctor" by Key Professional Media. Additionally, Dr. Janniger was featured in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare in its inaugural edition.

Dr. Janniger is the author, coauthor, or editor of more than 200 scientific publications, including several monographs focussing on Central and Eastern Europe and pediatric dermatology.

Dr. Janniger earned her medical degree from the Medical University of Warsaw. Following an internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, she completed her dermatology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Janniger was born in Sopot, Poland on July 18, 1959, the child of Stanislaw Krysicki and Felicja Krysicka (née Kurnatowska). She attended Klementyna Hoffmanowa High School in Warsaw. A democracy activist during Communist rule in Poland, she co-founded the Independent Students' Union at the Medical University of Warsaw.
