Q: When should I apply?
A: Applicants generally apply during their last year of medical school for a position starting the July after graduation consisting of 2 years of Pediatrics immediately followed by 3 years of Neurology training.
Q: Can I do all five years of training, (2 years Pediatric & 3 years Child Neurology) at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS)?
A: Yes. This is a categorical position. All 5 years of training are included.
Q: Should I apply for a Pediatric Program and a Child Neurology Program separately?
A: No. We are offering a categorical position under the Rutgers NJMS Child Neurology Program through ERAS. Only 1 application is necessary. There will be 1 combined interview.
Q: Do you accept International Medical Graduates?
A: Yes. However, you also must have:
- An ECFMG certificate
- Have passed the USMLE 1 and 2
Q: What type of visa do you accept for International Medical Graduates?
A: Our institution sponsors J-1 visas.
Q: What are the minimum USMLE scores accepted by your program?
A: We do not have a specific minimum score. You must pass step 1 to be considered for our program.
Q: Should we supply any additional information along with the ERAS application?
A: You should supply 3 letters of recommendation and a personal statement.
