A. Heart, cross section of left ventricle, gross.  A lamellated thrombus is adherent to the endocardium of the left ventricular anterior wall, partially filling the lumen.  A white area of scarring, representing a healed infarct, nearly encircles the left ventricle, but is most prominent in the anterior wall.
