Resident Council Mission Statement
The Resident Council is a representative body of house staff whose mission serves to:
- Act as a liaison between house staff and the Graduate Medical Education committee as well as the hospital administration.
- Improve the quality of resident education.
- Give house staff a voice in their education, foster camaraderie and promote resident well-being.
- Serve as voice for house staff addressing, facilitating and prioritizing concerns and issues affecting residents.
- To ensure resident involvement in the continued strengthening of patient care and quality of medical practice through house staff representation at the various medical committees at University Hospital, the VA and Hackensack.
Current Initiatives
- House staff well-being
- House staff involvement in hospital and GME initiatives
- Streamlining house staff encountered administrative and logistical issues
- Continued improvement in communication between faculty, administration, and house staff
House Staff Council Meeting
Every 2nd Thursday of the month. Time: 7:00am.
Location: University Hospital - H Yellow Conference Room (H 349).
Breakfast will be served; all are welcome to attend.
