Heritage Month Celebration
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, September 15 - October 15, 2018
Each year, we observe Hispanic Heritage month from September 15 – October 15, by celebrating histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic people. At NJMS, activities focused on Academic Excellence, Research, and the Community that we serve.
Festivities included a Mentoring Session and Student-faculty Mixer, Increasing the number of Hispanic students in the NJMS pipeline programs, an NIH lecture, Latino Academic Excellence at NJMS-UH, and a session focusing on enhancing our pool of Spanish language medical interpreters.
The five events were co-sponsored by the NJMS Diversity Committee, Hispanic Center of Excellence, the Office for Diversity and Community Engagement, and the 19 basic and clinical science departments at NJMS.
