The Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Sarcoidosis Center, one of just a few such multidisciplinary centers in the country, is up and running.
We offer patients the advantages of a highly skilled and experienced team of experts. The Center provides:
- A whole team of experts with diverse specialties;
- Integrated care for a disease that can affect multiple organs, including the brain, eyes, skin, lungs, heart, and more;
- Experts in dermatology and dentistry/oral surgery who have experience with the disease;
- Surgeons familiar with sarcoidosis from all subspecialties on-hand to perform any necessary biopsies;
- Radiologists with extensive experience imaging the Sarcoid patient;
- Pathologists skilled in diagnosing Sarcoid.
The Center’s team works collaboratively to provide integrated care for the patient with this disease, which so often impacts multiple organ systems.
Because Sarcoidosis is relatively uncommon, it is hard for any individual physician to become comfortable with its management. When the patient comes in with
ocular disease, or possible cardiac involvement, or neurosarcoid, or needs multidisciplinary attention, you need to know who to turn to for advice without delay.
We offer our collective expertise as a group that meets to discuss and publishes
on Sarcoid. Our faculty physicians are available to assist you in caring for patients with this
difficult and unusual diagnosis, or if you would prefer, our group can assume the care of your patient. If you need assistance with a Sarcoid patient, or help to establish the diagnosis, call one of us directly; or you, your staff, or your patient can call the Sarcoid Call Center of New Jersey Medical School at l-855-4-SARCOID.
We look forward to talking with you.
