Residency Application Process                                                       

Thank you for your interest in the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School's Anesthesiology Residency Program. Please be advised that our residency program offers both categorical and advanced positions. Candidates interested in applying may do so through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) beginning September 15th. Applications must be received by the ERAS post office no later than 12/1 and all supporting documents must be submitted no later than 12/31.

The following documentation must be submitted to ERAS:

  • Completed application
  • Official medical school transcript
  • Dean's letter of recommendation from your medical school
  • A minimum of 3 recent letters of recommendation
  • USMLE/Board Scores– Step I & II. The program encourages all in-coming residents to successfully complete Step III prior to beginning their CA-1 (PGY-2) position.
  • ECFMG (if applicable)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal statement– A one page bio including past accomplishments and future plans
  • Photo (optional)

The Resident Selection Committee will review all applications and decide what candidates will be invited to the program for an interview.
