Created in 1983, the three-year dermatology training program at the New Jersey Medical School is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Dermatopathololgy is based at the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ bosting a state-of-the-art facilities, only six miles from Manhattan, on the relaxed side of the Hudson River. New Jersey is magnificently diverse, rich with culture and history. Its geographic aesthetics can be appreciated by those who seek winter resorts, a beach-laden coastline, or idyllic farm-towns.

Our residents have included alumnae/alumni of a wide variety of medical schools, including UCLA, Tulane, Yale, Jefferson, Iowa, Oklahoma, LSU, Johns Hopkins, Hawaii, University of Wisconsin Madison, Brown, SUNY Stony Brook, Temple, SUNY Brooklyn, Missouri, Minnesota, Mount Sinai, and Einstein. We have two positions per year and are proud to have had a 100% first-time passing rate on the American Board of Dermatology examination. This program is particularly strong in dermatologic surgery, and with no dermatologic surgery fellow, our trainees get extraordinary opportunities in this area, including sclerotherapy, and laser and Mohs surgery. Many residents have gone on to pursue fellowships in every branch of dermatology and are now practicing clinicians and academicians.
