The Division of Adolescent and Young
Adult Medicine
(D.A.Y.A.M.)
The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (D.A.Y.A.M.)
has conducted an active program of clinical service, teaching and research at
the New Jersey Medical School since 1976.
D.A.Y.A.M. is fully integrated into the clinical
and teaching program of the Department of Pediatrics of the New Jersey Medical
School. Along with pediatric subspecialties D.A.Y.A.M. has
access to collaborative and consultative relationships with a wide range of
clinical specialist which are available at the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology,
Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Dentistry, General and Subspecialty Surgery
and Trauma.
D.A.Y.A.M. currently consists of 100 professionals
who work in 15 interconnected components, each of which is administered by a
program coordinator. The overall administrative direction for the entire Division
resides in the Director of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine with the assistance
of the Associate Director of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine and the Division's
Administrative Coordinator. This administrative core is responsible for a variety
of fiscal and programmatic functions which are integral to the effectiveness
of each aspect of D.A.Y.A.M.'s activities:
