Note: Applications submitted for review does not require signatures from Dr. Hill and mentors. Signatures are required of faculty mentor and Dr. Hill when accepted to participate in the program. Students applying to multiple projects should submit separate applications for each project.

APPLICATION PROCESS
EVALUATION CRITERIA:
This is a competitive program with a limited number of
stipend funded projects. Students are required to complete an application,
attach a copy current CV and include a brief statement indicating any prior
research experience and state how it relates to the current project. Completed
applications should be emailed to Giovanna Comer: giovanna.comer@njms.rutgers.edu and copy Ms. Nathaline Elaine Anderson: andersna@njms.rutgers.edu. The
documents will be forwarded to the Faculty Mentor for review. If the student has
met the qualifications for the project he/she will be contacted by the Faculty
Mentor to schedule an interview. This process could take 2-3 weeks for
completion. Students are encourage to call or email Faculty Mentor if they have any
questions relating to current projects.
NOTE: Stipend support is available for a limited
number of research projects. Stipend support is also reserved for 1st, and 2nd year medical students.. Undergraduate students in the combined BS/MD program may
participate as a volunteer or thru work-study while fulfilling their credit
requirements.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
- Students must be in good academic
standing to participate.
- Duration of projects are eight-week. Students who have any additional academic or research activities (part-time or full-time) outside of the SSRP are not eligible to participate.

Students approved to work on funded projects will receive a stipend in the amount of $3000
(no additional projects outside of current postings will be accepted)
