Welcome Message from the Chief Residents
Welcome to the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Anesthesiology!
As chief residents, we are excited to welcome you and share what makes our program such a special place to train. At NJMS, residents gain broad clinical experience across multiple training sites, caring for a diverse patient population and managing a wide variety of complex cases. Our rotations provide exposure to high-acuity medicine including liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplantation, major trauma, fast-paced obstetric anesthesia, pediatric and infant anesthesia, and advanced surgical care.
While our clinical training is challenging and comprehensive, what truly sets our program apart is our people. We are fortunate to learn in an environment built on teamwork, mentorship, and support. Our faculty are invested in our growth, and our residents consistently show up for each other both inside and outside of the operating room.
We also value the importance of wellness and community throughout residency. From resident events to everyday moments of support, we strive to create a culture where people can thrive while becoming excellent anesthesiologists.
We are proud of the training we receive at NJMS and grateful for the friendships, mentorship, and experiences that have shaped us along the way. We hope you will take the opportunity to learn more about our program and see what makes NJMS feel like home.
