
Fellowship Conferences
- Pathology Conference: Weekly conference with a pathologist with special training in pathology
- Journal Club: Twice monthly with discussion of interesting and/or controversial articles that pertain to gastroenterology and hepatology
- Board Review: Based on DDSEP and Mayo Clinic Gastroenterology Board Review Topics. Trainees will have access and obtain additional learning from the DDSEP Plus Training program subscription.
- Clinical Case Conference: Interesting Case Presentations with discussion from faculty and specialties.
- Joint Research Conference with Divison of Liver Disease and Transplant Hepatology: Includes updates, QA/QI and review of published data
- Journal Review: Interesting articles from major peer reviewed journals are summarized and discussed.
- Gastroenterology – Surgery Conference: Discussion of topics from different fields and strategies to improve interdisciplinary teamwork
- Specialty Lectures: Lectures from Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Endocrinology, and others to broaden perspective on disease and treatment
- Visiting Faculty: Several guests of national repute visit the Division each academic year. A typical visit would include a Grand Rounds-type presentation and opportunity to meet with individual members of the Division over a 24 hour period
- Morbidity and Mortality Conference: Attending discussion and academic review
- Attendance at Regional & National Conferences: Fellows who are in good academic standing and have approval from the program are eligible to attend a conference, once per a training year, for which they submitted a paper, abstract or poster as 1st author relevant to their specialty. Trainees also have the ability to utilize GME funding to support additional educational conference travel outside of the once a year that the department covers.
