Hand and Microvascular Surgery

Dr. Tan completed fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery-Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York.  His background in mechanical engineering and advanced training in orthopaedic, brachial plexus and microsurgery have enhanced and complemented his interest in the structure and function of the human body. This multi-disciplinary training has allowed Dr. Tan to have a comprehensive approach to problems of the hand and upper extremity.

Research Interests: Clinical outcome of elbow injuries, biomechanical model for elbow instability, nerve regeneration.

Practice Philosophy: As a physician, I feel strongly that my patients fully understand their diagnoses and all their treatment options.  In this way, as a doctor-patient team, we can collaborate on the best plan for each informed individual.  I am committed to maintaining the communication necessary to accomplish this for every patient.
