Faculty Positions:

Assistant or Associate Professor-Basic Science:

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor-Basic Science. The applicant is expected to bring in extramural funding with research interests and strength in infection, immunity, and cancer areas to complement and further the Departmental research mission. The applicant will initiate translational research with the clinical faculty and participate in teaching of the RBHS-Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). Physician scientists are highly encouraged to apply. Participation in clinical service will be arranged for MD candidates with a board certification.
Minimum education and experience: MD,PhD, or MD/PhD. Extramural funding is expected in the research area(s) of infection, immunity, and cancer. Teaching experience.

Assistant or Associate Professor-Clinical Microbiologist:

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor. The applicant will be a clinical microbiologist, responsible for all aspects of establishing new microbiological tests including ensuring proper and complete billing. Will provide expertise for antibiotic utilization and quality assurance program.
Minimum education and experience: PhD or MD degree. Certificate of ABMM (American Board of Medical Microbiology) required for PhD. MD candidates need to be board certified by American Board of Pathology.

Associate  Professor-AP/CP  Board-Certified  Pathologist:

demonstrating strong clinical skills, the applicant will also participate in the education of pathology residents and medical students. The applicant should have evidence of academic productivity and is expected to pursue scholarly activities and collaborative research.

Assistant Professor-Director of Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory:

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School located in Newark, New Jersey,is seeking an assistant professor. An eligible candidate with a Ph.D. and or M.D. degree, for the administrative title of Director-Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, must have one of the following certifications:(1) American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) - Certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics (CMG), (2) American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) - Certification in in Molecular Diagnostics (DABCC), and (3) American Board of Pathology (ABP) - Molecular Genetics Pathology. The Director will oversee daily operations and specialized functions of the Laboratory which performs molecular microbiology, genetics, and oncology testing (including next generation
sequencing) . Translational research and teaching are also expected.
